One reason that all-DC Air Conditioners make the best use of solar power is because there are no losses associated with converting DC power from the solar panels into AC power to run a standard air conditioner. Using standard solar panels which produce native DC power, the SplitCool DC18 DC air conditioner avoids the inefficient addition of an "inverter" that converts solar DC current into AC current. Plus, the SPP brushless permanent magnet motor driver provides a variable frequency drive that allows the system to dynamically adjust its capacity based on conditions.

The DC18 solar air conditioner has been designed to make the best possible use of costly solar photovoltaic panels. The DC18 can use approximately half of the number of solar panels that would be required by the same capacity standard AC-powered air conditioner of the same max capacity running on solar panels through an inverter. The system is perfect for residential, commercial, telecom, portable classrooms or offices, or remote facilities where conventional or generator power is costly and/or unreliable.

Pricing runs anywhere from $7,000 to $11,000 uninstalled and the batteries would be sourced locally.

Battries are not included in the above price Standard deep cycle golf cart battreis are recommended. A total of 8 6volt battries.

The PV panels can be sorced through us or you can use some one elses and the above price will be reduced.

The unit can be run off of existing PV currently installed and again this will reduce the price.

Any where from 3 to 5 PV 270W PV panels can be used again this effects the pricing.
